What’s the difference between Self Serve, Base and Flex?
Self Serve means you sign up to Orbit Commerce directly, build your store with the page builder and connect to Dynamic yourself — lowest cost, fastest start, full control. Base and Flex are the agency-level hand-hold: we build the site, load the catalogue, and then keep running the store for you — design changes, pricing updates, products added and removed, all handled by our team. Flex adds integration of third-party supplier catalogues on top (up to 20 suppliers), so you can sell a wider range alongside Dynamic product.
How does the Dynamic supplier connection work on Self Serve?
Inside your Orbit Commerce vendor dashboard there’s a Suppliers panel. Connect to Dynamic there and our catalogue syncs into your store — products, images, specs and live stock levels — and keeps itself up to date automatically. You choose which products to publish and set your own retail prices.
What do I actually have to do on a managed plan?
One thing: bring customers to your website. On Base and Flex our team manages everything behind the scenes — web design, product listings, pricing changes, adding and removing products, content updates, backups and security. What we don’t do is your marketing: ads, social media, email campaigns and local relationships stay with you, because nobody knows your customers like you do. You send people to the site; we make sure the site is ready to sell to them.
How quickly can I be selling?
On Self Serve, the same day — sign-up takes minutes and the Dynamic catalogue syncs in automatically. On Base, your site can be live in as little as a week — though most retailers spend a little longer fine-tuning the design with us first, and that’s absolutely fine. On Flex, the Dynamic side of your store launches just as quickly, while each additional supplier catalogue takes time to integrate properly — we’ll agree a realistic timeline with you when you get in touch.
What does Self Serve actually cost?
Every new user gets a 14-day free trial, so you can set up your store, connect to Dynamic and have a proper look around before paying a penny. After that, Orbit Commerce plans start from £19 per month, billed by Orbit Commerce, with no setup fee and no long-term contract. The Dynamic supplier connection — catalogue and stock syncing — is free for Dynamic trade customers.
Can I move between plans?
Yes. Self Serve customers who want a hand can upgrade to a managed plan at any time, and Base customers can upgrade to Flex whenever they’re ready to add third-party catalogues. If you downgrade from Flex to Base we’ll work with you to adjust your product listings.
Is there a minimum commitment?
Self Serve has no contract — it’s a monthly subscription with Orbit Commerce that you can cancel any time. Managed plans (Base and Flex) have an initial 12-month term, then continue month-to-month with one month’s notice.
When do I get paid?
Your first payout arrives 7 days after your first sale. After that, payouts run daily, with a standard 2-day transaction processing window.
What happens to my existing WordPress site?
Nothing changes until your migration slot. We move your products, branding and domain to Orbit Commerce, run the two sites side by side while you check everything over, then switch your URL across with no downtime.
