Under each top, the seating that goes with it. Two tonal picks for when a client wants the floor to feel considered rather than loud, and two contrast picks for when the room can take a lift. 

Carbon Grey

The darkest of the five, near-black without going flat. It anchors a floor and lets the colour happen in the chairs, so it's the top to reach for when the desks aren't the place for the brightness.

For tonal, Quest Mussel shadows the top almost exactly - a near-black that reads as one deep, considered surface - while X2 Arithmetic lifts it a step into a mid grey.

To warm it up, Senna Yellow brings a golden hit that lands the moment someone walks in, and Quest Crab does the same in a deeper rust.

Dove Grey

The lighter half of the pair, and the one that works hardest where daylight is thin. Basements, internal floors, anywhere the windows are more of a rumour than a feature.

Tonal here is Quest Shell, a clean mid grey a step down from the top, or Era Generation, a warmer, browner grey that keeps the scheme from feeling cold.

A light top gives you room to be bolder, so Stevia Blue in deep navy and Rivet Forge in terracotta both hold their own against it - one cool, one warm.

Moss Green

The softest of the five, and the one that reads almost residential. That's exactly why it lands in the rooms trying hardest not to feel like an office.

For a tonal scheme, Era Endurance is a soft, lighter moss that sits just above the top, and Rivet Olive takes it the other way into a darker, yellow-tinged olive.

Green loves a warm partner across the wheel: Ginseng Chilli in a deep berry red for the rich version, or Quest Shrimp in terracotta-pink for something softer.

Brick Red

The bold one. A single bank of desks in Brick Red anchors a scheme, and a whole floor of it makes a proper statement - this is the finish for a client who wants the desks themselves to carry the colour.

Tonal takes care with reds, so lean on Era Experience, a brick that sits close to the top, and Era Extent, a deeper wine that steps it down a register. 

Send it the other way with a cool seat: Maringa Teal in a clean teal for the punchy version, or Main Line Flax Temple in dark olive for something earthier.

Deep Teal

The one that catches people out. It has the depth of a dark neutral with real colour underneath, so it's the easiest of the five to put in front of a client who wants something different but can't say what.

Stay in the family with Quest Whelk, which sits right with the top as a deep petrol teal, or X2 Polygon, a lighter, dustier grey-teal that softens the scheme without breaking it.

For contrast, warm against cool is the move: Bergamot Cherry in bright red for the bold option, or Era Occasion in mustard for the warmer, quieter one.
